I recently purchased a Uniden BC296D scanner as my entrance into the scanning world, and am probably in over my head! However, I'm very interested in learning and if anyone wants to hold my hand and provide some assistance to a newbie I'd be most appreciative! 
Although I have many questions, in the interest of brevity let me just ask a few for the time being:
1) I'm primarily interested in listening to Loudoun (Fire-Rescue and Sheriff's dept) and Fairfax county (Fire/PD) and possibly VA State Police. If anyone has any of these frequencies already programmed and would be willing to send me a file compatible with the standard software that comes with the BC296D, that would be awesome since I'm a little confused on how to make it all work just right! Of course, if you have any other data programmed such as Dulles Traffic, surrounding jurisdictions, etc., I'd be happy to have that too.
2) Is there an easy way within a bank to scan just certain talkgroups? For example, as I understand Loudoun Fire/Rescue and Sheriff's Office uses the same frequencies, but different talk groups. So, is there an easy way to set it up to just press a button to listen to only Fire and another to listen to only Sheriff?
3) Last question that comes to mind is there any way to set a priority for a given talkgroup. For example, say I wanted to listen to Fire/Rescue with a priority to 6A (dispatch) so that I can hear all new calls. Thus, if there is traffic on 6B (response) it would automatically cut that traffic off in favor of 6A.[/list]
If you can answer any or all of the above, I'd be exceptionally grateful! Just in case you're still reading and care, my background is that I'm a volunteer EMT in Loudoun so I'm fairly used to using the operational radios, but not the programming and use of scanners.
