Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

CDM Help with CDM-1550LS+ (6AN model) Message and Status Decoding

Alright, so I have a setup of some HT-series portables, which notably includes an HT1250s that I recently programmed to be able to transmit MDC statuses and MDC messages. I have a CDM-1550 LS+ (the 6AN model) as a base station that I operate on only conventional channels. Now, on both the HT1250 and the CDM1550, I have all of the statuses and messages identical in both code plugs, and on the main operations channel they are both using an identical MDC system (except that primary IDs are changed) for both Tx and Rx. Both MDC id display and emergency decode work between these radios on this channel. Here's the issue: when I try to transmit a status or message with the HT1250, I hear the MDC come through the CDM1550, but it doesn't do anything and after a few seconds the HT1250 just shows "NO ACKNOWLEDGE". Using my SDR and an MDC decoder, I've verified that the HT1250 is transmitting valid MDC messages, and in CPS for the CDM, I've checked the decode box in the message section of the MDC system. So, any ideas what I might be doing wrong?

The user manual for the radio explicitly states that it can decode and acknowledge them, it even has diagrams showing what the radio should do and show when it does, it's just a matter of programming.

I just read thru the manual - chrome-extension://efaidnbmnnnibpcajpcglclefindmkaj/https://www.repeater-builder.com/motorola/cdm/pdfs/cdm1550ls+-220mhz-mobile-radio-user-manual-6864110r13-o.pdf

I dont see where it says it decodes status messages. It says it can send to base. Standard messages should decode like the HT1250.
