help with FreeScan

Ok I just signed up for the premium subscription, bought the cable I needed for the new BCD396XT scanner and downloaded free scan and was doing the conventional one that is shown on youtube. I got everything done and saved the file to upload it to my scanner and this is what I see.

FreeSCAN is unable to access COM1. Check settings and try again.

I am not sure what to do. HELP
