I am wondering if some patient person out there could help me. My parents are retired (father is disabled--home bound). They enjoyed listening to the fire/police frequencies in Jenks OK. About a month ago, the frequencies stopped working, and we assume they were changed. I checked on this website and did find some new frequencies in the 850-860 MHZ range (previously they were around 450). Today I went and paid $200 for a Triple Trunking Radio Shack Pro-2055 because it showed that it would receive the 850 range. However, it does not appear to be working.

I absolutely have no idea what else to do. We don't even know for certain if the frequencies are accurate since they changed (or so we think) pretty recently. Could anyone provide some adivce? I would sure like to be able to help my parents be able to listen to a scanner again.
thanks.

The codes listed are 856.26250 up to 860.26250 if I am reading it correctly.
thanks.

Jenks is now on an EDACS system, which is in some way affiliated with the Broken Arrow system, much like Bixby and Glenpool are. It is important in programming in EDACS frequencies that the LCN order is followed, such as the first frequency must be put in channel 001, not in 000, or in 101 not in 100, etc. That is a frequent error made when programming an EDACS system in.

The talkgroups and codes for them are in the database for the Jenks system if you have not found them yet, but I believe you have since you apparently found the system frequenices.

Also, I see that PJ has offered his help just a minute ago, so that will surely get you going if needed. :)
