I am new to scanners and just bought a Home Patrol. It didn't pick up much and then I bought an antenna from ham radio outlet and it received well when in the car but not in my house regardless if antenna was inside or out. I am i fairfax county va and if I click on just two services it will pull up 500+ channels. I'm guessing that since there are so many frequencies its scanning that it never has time to stop and receive anything so I guess I have to go into software and delete or lock out frequencies that I do not want? Any advice at all of your experience with how you got your home patrol to operate good if it was not good at beginning would be great. Anyone in Nova area with home pro…..I'd like to talk to you.
