I have not been able to program either my RS pro 96 or BC 246.
I just purchase the RS and was looking to sell the Uniden. Can someone help me get Marcs on one of them. I would perfer the Uniden and I can then take the RS 96 back.
Can someone email me a good working file. I have both software/cables for both.
Please emal: stevejefferies@adelphia.net

Thanks.

The Bearcat (BC246T) won't work on Ohio MARCS as it is a Digital system and the BC246T only works with analog systems.

If you look at the RR Database (Link on top of this page) you can obtain any further details on Lake, Geauga, and Ohio MARCS systems.

Keep in mind, also, that the Lake County system used Digital modulation for Public Safety and analog for public service ops.

I'd say keep both radios. The BC246T works great with Geauga County's system and the PRO-96 works great with both Lake County and Ohio MARCS systems.

Pro 96 Lake CO

I just got a Pro 96 this week. I live in Concord. i got the $23.00 programing cord from the Mentor Radio Shack today (There the only RS in the area it seems to have it this week) and am using the Win96 software to program it. That software and cable make it a breeze to program. I am listing to the Lake County system plus the Chardon & Wickliffe MARCS sites. Heard the Mansfield prison on it this morning for awhile. You never know who will show up on MARCS it seems. Need help, let me know..

You might also be able to pick up the Ashtabula site, as well (867.425)

The PRO-96 is a nifty little radio.
