Hey Guys,

I recently moved to DC for work and am having difficulty uploading two systems into my brand new Uniden Bearcat 996XT. I am using the ARC XT software. I uploaded Fairfax PD, Arlington PD, PWC PD, and many others with no problem at all. But, the following are not coming through at all:

Metropolitan DC Police Department (MPD)

Washington Metropolitan Transit Authority Police Department (Transit PD)

I uploaded the default settings for everything, and I suppose I have to change something from the default settings, but can't figure it out. I tried reading the above sticky on programming, but can't find anything that I should change in relation to ARC-XT.

Also, I need these settings changed ASAP for tomorrow AM (1/22/2011) and don't have my Windows computer with me.

Can anyone offer assistance ASAP? Advice on how to re-program and/or change these two systems so I can properly receive them??

The MPD is a unique situation; you must program both UHF offsets to make it work properly. This article describes the little tricks in great detail, and gives several examples...

Programming the MPDC in Digital Scanners - The RadioReference Wiki

And as for WMATA - similar issue here, except there's only one offset. This is clearly shown in the database entry...

Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) Trunking System, Various, Multi-State - Scanner Frequencies

Neither of these systems are P25; On the System screen, set the System type to Mot Type II/P25, and in the Site screen, select Mot UHF Band. Be certain to put in the offsets as needed. Set the groups up to receive analog or digital audio, as appropriate. Probably the best way to figure out how to do that would be to use the 996XT Easier to Read manual.

best regards..Mike
