BCD325P2/BCD996P2: Help with new BCD996p2

Hey everyone! I just recently got back into listening with my old radio shack pro-67 and I could hear local fire and ems chatter. I bought me a BCD996p2 because I seen it could do p25 phase 2 and I thought that's what my county was on. I have been about to pick up some police or sheriff traffic but not all. I have found a lot of channels just scanning random ranges and a lot of them sound like the link bellow and I am wonder if these are DMR or what they are. any help would be appreciated.

It sounds like an idle DMR channel to me.

You can get a $25 SDR dongle and use that in Windows to receive and decode DMR to verify. Using a decode program like DSDplus will decode most of the different protocols out there and if using something like SDR# or SDRConsole will show a big shunk of the spectrum where you can click on a signal and monitor it and check what type of system use there are and what digital protocol they are using and also if it is encrypted.

It looks like your county public safety is conventional as I didn't see any sites in your county on the statewide system.

Your Sheriff dispatch is the only P25 frequency.
