I live out west and am trying to monitor the OHP low band stuff. Can some one please explain to me how the low band stuff works. I see where the base transmit on one freq and the cars rx on another and vise versa. all i hear is the base station. I'm listening to the 44.7000

OHP Frequencies

In general, just program the frequencies listed under the heading Frequency.

You will only hear mobile units that are close to you that are not on a repeater.

If you have an active repeater in range, you should hear both sides of the conversation.

In addition to the 44.7 frequency plug in 44.9. The 44.7 channel is base to car and car to car, the 44.9 channel is used for car to base. OHP does not utilize low-band repeaters so you need to scan both frequencies. You may want to plug in the other OHP frequency set 45.22 and 45.18 also.
