Help with PDW software

Hi guys,

I need your help.

I've got a Uniden UBD860XLT an had it got build so i could use PDW software to decode data signals.

But the problem is, when i recive from our local Fire Dept. I've rececing a lots of letters and "??" and then the message is show.

I've had a Danish in Languange from another forum (dkscan.dk) And it works, but now iv'e receve on the image below;

Before i got the letters and ?? its stand on 93.0 %. in right corner.

So can somebody tell me what is wrong, suddenley... ?

PDW requires a lot of fine tuning. Go into the options and you will see the settings. You also may need a data slicer installed. There should be instructions on that in the help section of PDW.What your scanner most likely has is a plain old discriminator tap. That simply won't suffice.

Actually I doubt that particular scanner already has a discriminator tap - likely as not you or someone else would have to put one in. Putting the input of that into the soundcard input of the PC will work (for most, though not all modes). For example ACARS decode doesn't need a data slicer...I do agree that PDW does take a bit of tweaking (I used an older version some time back - can't say what I was looking at, though...:.>> ).

The other question is what exactly you are trying to decode? best regards..Mike
