Help with programing?! (CTCSS)

I am going to buy this radio UA300 Compact Programmable UHF Radio Uniforms & Accessories Warehouse - Security Uniforms, Law Enforcement Badges, Lightbars and i am going to have them program it to 460.55 and apparently i was told by my boss i need them to add 141.3 for CTCSS now..i dont know what that is or if the radio can be programmed with that could someone explain that to me? Will you still be able to use it without the CTCSS Thanks!!!

CTCSS is known by many names. One of these names is QT (for "Quiet Tone"). Looking at the specs for the radio you linked, it looks like you should be OK.

You just need that one frequency in the radio? That frequency range is typically used with repeaters, so you would need the transmit programmed. Plus, it is a 16 channel radio, so you can get more in it.
