Just a quick question. I know that the R39 doesn’t have a 7.5 step and i have 7.5 step frequencies I need to program. For example 155.3175 receive with 158.9775 transmit. The proper step is 7.5 but I can’t put that in the memory. Input 6.25 instead. Will I be able to hear that frequency?

It will take that entry just fine.
You can set tuning steps down as low as 0.01 if needed.

For the R30, the Transmit frequency that RT System software allows is kind of pointless being the R30 cannot transmit.

Thank you. The R30 can do a duplex scan so if desired it can listen to the input frequency as well. I’m going to use the scanner 99% for military air and federal P25 but I am putting my County and the neighboring county in as well.

Sounds good!
I'm used to using Icom's software for the R30 although I do have RT's as well.
Icom just uses a box to enter your freq offset and then a + or - selection if you want to do duplex scanning.
RT's method is actually easier if you know the true TX frequency otherwise you must calculate it for Icom's software.
RT probably keeps it like that with their primary focus being amateur transceivers.

I've never really had the need for watching the inputs so I don't use the feature very often. Maybe when monitoring the local 2 meter repeaters but that would be about it.

I’m just using it for the local emergency services so I know when they are close. I will also likely use it on the ham/skywarn frequencies I program. I have a few limit scans set up already. Here’s a pic.
