Help with programming a Radio

Hi, i have a Kenwood TK 3118 and i purchased a programming lead for it. i got the KPG-69D software from the internet and i'm trying to programe the unit but it won't work!! Here what happens:

Plug in Radio and Turn on: Radio starts transmitting!!!

Try to read or write to radio: Check connection


Sounds like i have a lead problem maybe??

Is your com setting right?

Where did you get such a radio? I can't find but one site for it and it doesn't give much detail about this radio. I've never heard of it, and I'm a diehard Kenwood user.

Here is a Link to it. Purchased in Thailand, all instructions in Chinese! It is made for the chinese market. Thanks for the reply.
