I'm new to trying out the T4Win. As I was reading the articels to setting up a trunker for a computer the articles mention that you need to have a dicriminator tap, and some kind of data slicer. I'm about ready to modify my scanner for a discriminator tap and about to purchase a data slicer online.
As I was reading more about the T4Win, it seems as though people have been able to just plug their scanner from the discriminator tap directly into the mic or line inputs on a computer with out using a data slicer, as long as they are running the T4Win. If this is possible could someone let me know so that way I don't spend money on buying a data slicer that I don't need.
So far this is the equipment I have. A Pro-95 scanner, Windows Xp Home Edition (does have a soundcard with Line In jack and Mic Jack) and the city I'm in is using a Edacs analog/digital narrowband system.
If I just get a discriminator tap for my scanner will the above equipment work out just fine?
