Hello,

I just acquired these radios at a flea market and have gotten the software with them I was wondering if anyone knew how to program them. I know nothing about setting the spilts or anything, I have my frequencies and pls just wondering why its so different from any conventional radio. If someone could help that would be great.

THANKS!!!

how is the manufacture of the equipment? have you tried their website for a manual?

edit: make sure you are not transmitting on any frequency you are not licensed to be doing so.

The radios are ham equipment made by Yaesu. If your only a Tech license don't transmit on 10 meters or the FCC will come down on you like a ton of bricks. The 8900 is a quad bander with 10 meters. As for the split for repeater frequencies just go into the radio menu and set it for auto. The 7800 8800 and 8900 all have that and it will do the repeater splits for yoy when you enter the frequencies.
