Help with Tropicana DMR system programming

I have an SDS100 (with DMR upgrade) and am trying to monitor the Tropicana Casino DMR system as listed in the database.

First, let me point out that this system does not download into the Sentinel software apparently because no talkgroups are currently defined for it. This seems a bit odd and creates a circular problem... no download, no monitoring... no monitoring, no talkgroup identifications... no talkgroup identifications, no download.

But, I attempted to setup the system manually in the scanner (which I've never done before). I programmed the frequencies and LCN numbers as "site 1", "system 1". but the scanner won't scan it. It reports that there is "nothing to scan".

Can someone help???

Well, I think I made some progress.

I added location data (lon lat radius) and suddenly it's working. I don't understand why that should matter to the scanner. Can anyone explain?

I'm doing an LCN search now. It may be that the LCN's listed in the RR database have an error. Will advise.

System is definitely working. I've logged about a dozen talkgroups but no clear definition of what each is doing yet.

There may still be an issue with at least one of the LCN numbers, though.

Try running the LCN finder on the system.


Edit: if in fact the system is Connect Plus the LCNs don’t matter just program the frequencies in order along with the color code and you need active the control channel.
