Hi all, I'm pretty new to scanning, so please bear with me. Here's the problem I'm having:
I have the BC898T scanner in our living room, just got it and the BC245XLT the other day. I have Programmed both on Bank A, the trunks and Talkgroup ID's for my town, Union Township, NJ. This is working perfectly on both scanners. Now, I wanted to Program in on Bank B, the Trunks for the town over from us, Irvington, which I did in the correct order(EDACS). They do not use Talkgroups ID's, so I just put the trunks in. The problem is when I go to scan, it just seems to be picking up my town of Union, I'm not getting Irvington at all. There have been a few times when I picked up 1 transmission from Irvington, but it's pretty much never now. This problem is occuring on both scanners, and i have tried about 10 times to re-program everything from scratch, carefully following directions, and still the problem exists. Can anyone help me with this? It's getting frustrating. Are these scanners able to scan trunking for both towns at the same time? As I said, I'm new to this, but hope someone can figure out what I'm doing wrong. Thanks!
