Help with Viking

I have obtained a EFJohnson Viking 800 MHz radio with model number 242-9655. I am in need of programming software and cable. This will be used for our local Interopability system. So I need to be able to reprogram the radio while enroute or at a scene. Thanks.

I certainly hope you're not driving while attempting to program a radio.
I once knew a fellow who attempted that...........once.

Why not obtain the frequencies and program them before-hand.

As for the software and cable, you'll probably have to locate the nearest EFJ dealer and go from there. It's a DOS program and not very hard to work. The cable and data invertor is what makes up 9/10ths of the programming.
