• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Greetings from the overseas ASTRO newbie!
I've bought the XTS3000R (model II) on ebay recently and also bought an aftermarket ribless programming cable for it. Yesterday I launched R.05.03.00 Astro Saber&XTS3000 CPS on my laptop and tried to read the radio (i've never done it with this radio before btw). "1CSQ" appeared on the display of the radio and after a while CPS provided me the following error message: "No user function provided to convert block type to block ID for block with type 32. Unpack failed."
Why can't I read my XTS? What's the problem and what can I do? Please help me!

And several facts abouth the radio itself:
FCC ID: AZ489FT4822
Model #: H09RDF9PW7BN
Flashcode: 1000040000004
R.05.52.03
DSPN 06.04.12
The radio appears to be in good condition, the serial number on the sticker matches the one provided in service mode...

Hope someone will help me. thanks in advance!

I have seen something similar on an MTS2000, its corrupt data or bad memory inside the unit. Basically the logic board either was forced something it was supposed to have, the memory has gone bad or corrupted. As far as fixing it, not sure what you can do but try to find a good working codeplug and program that into it. Try to get a hold of the original owner and see if he has a saved working codeplug..

He means the software he used to program the radios is R05.03.00 and the firmware in the radio is R05.52.03. They are two different things.
