Antenna Help
I'm an extreme noob when it comes to this kind of stuff, could anyone give me any idea what these antennas are used for?

I bought them for the trunk of my car because I take it to car shows and stuff, but id prefer to actually connect them to something to avoid trouble with the law. Are they used for CB or something?

It sounds like you have those antennas for 'looks', and if they are satisfying that need, then that's good enough. I don't see why you could possibly get into 'legal' problems for having them, especially if they aren't connected to anything.

I get the funny feeling that the OP is driving an old police cruiser and just put some antennas on the trunk to make it look more like an actual cruiser and this would also explain the legal issues.

If I needed an old "fishing car" (if you know what that used to be) I would certainly keep an old 'cruiser' in mind. But having been around a lot of 'surplus' cars like that, I can't for the life of me figure out why I would ever drive one to a car show, you know?
As for looking like a police car, I figure there are enough of the older Mercs around that look a lot like an old 'Vic' that you'd really have to be desperate to impersonate a cop to do it. Different strokes for different folks but I wouldn't waste my time on it. Oh well.

Most people match the antenna to the radio, not a radio to an antenna. Unless your state has some archaic laws about having antennas which are not hooked to radios, you should be fine. What kind of car are you showing that requires you to have antennas?

I wish that I had and old vic haha but I actually have an impala, and raceway park does events around me and everyone does up their car with strobes and such. But I live in NYC and I feel like if I would actually hook up the antennas to something like a CB or whatever they're used for, that if i got pulled over I would have a better answer as to why I have them then "Im trying to look like a cop".

Tell'em you use them for 'diversity reception'. Don't have them currently hooked up because it's a lot of time and effort and you just don't have the time. If you can't dazzle'em with brilliance... baffle'em with B.S.! Right?
