question for the board: while listening to HC system I hear the officer saying that he is switching to TAC but I don't hear anything else. Do I have the system programmed correctly or is there something else?

Do you have the TRS programmed? If so, you either didn't program all the frequencies, or you didn't program all the talkgroups.

Everything in the database is correct for HPD. They encrypt 100% of the time on the tacs. If you have a PRO-96, the encrypted talkgroups won't show up on 3600 baud systems. If you have a 396/996T, it will show up but with the audio muted.

thanx for the info. I have everything programmed correctly, didn't know they encrypted the TAC channels.

for the record, only pd tacs are encrypted, not Fire. officers can select encryption on pd dispatch channels but they are not encrypted normally.
