I am going to give Jerrys CB radios a call this week and see what he has to say. He has been in the radio business 40 years.I had the radio in the car today and the farther away from Napoleon I got the stronger the signal.

Please let me know what Jerry has to say.

I have already been in downtown Toledo and picked up Napoleon PD like they were just down the block. I was driving so I could not see exactly what freq I was picking them up on, but I was probably picking them up off the Lucas Co. Simulcast - not sure.

I'm sure it was the Lucas County simulcast site. The Henry County talkgroups are almost always active on this site.

He said Henry County Run out of money. Said they are still working on it. Heard dispatch say chip was there working on back feed .

I also heard them testing several frequencies today. Did Jerry say if once they're done working on it, the signal strength from the Hamler tower will be stronger?

I also heard traffic from Napoleon PD the other day in which the officer advised his dispatcher to add his current building location to the list of building locations where they're not receiving traffic or signals.

Even PD cant use raidos some times.

IMHO, I believe it's STILL the poor system they're dealing with. I'm still hearing numerous times when the dispatcher or another patrol car has to ask for a repeat because the transmission was unreadable.

I've also heard them advise over the radio to add ANOTHER certain location to some list where transmissions cannot be heard and or a signal can't get out.

The other night they were doing a building check on an open door and the patrolman actually advised the dispatcher that they may not be able to hear her traffic, and if indeed that was the case to call them on their cell phone. Very sad indeed - we NEVER had problems like that on the 155.625 frequency.

Toledo coming in loud an clear olny on Sundays in Henry County on Fulton Co.Freq. Real crazy that the PD an Sheriff dont come in clearing Henry county. They need to use the Tower in Holgate that puts out a strong signal.

The Holgate tower only carries MARCS-IP ( ie: Ohio Highway Patrol, Defiance Co. SO, Defiance PD, etc. ), while the Hamler tower only carries Northwest Ohio Regional Public Safety System ( ie: Napoleon PD, Henry County SO, etc. ).

The best suggestion I have for you is to find the " Sweet Spot " somewhere in your home where the Northwest Ohio Regional Public Safety System signal from the Hamler tower comes in the strongest and to set your scanner there. It's what I had to do with my BCD325P2.

OR you can spend the $700.00 for an SDS200 ( or SDS100 ) which I have done. The SDS picks up the signal anywhere in my home. ( Income tax return or Coronavirus $1200 check ?? )
