Henry or Clayton Police Frequncies

Howdy,
I was wondering if I would be able to get these frequencies
on my Pro-95 scanner? I was told by a radio shack representive
here in town and he told me that I wouldnt be able to because
that Henry and Clayton Police Department changes they're
frequncies every 2 months? So people cant hear them?

Henry County is a ProVoice system and all PD comms are digital. There is no scanner at all that will decode Provoice. Public works, Admin and I think the FD dispatch are analog. You can receive those comms but thats all.

Henry & Clayton Co GA / 155.910 Atlanta

155.910 is Ga State Patrol's Metro Atlanta channel. The GSP refers to it
as "Troop C" channel.

As for the rep at Radio Shack :roll: ....I can't believe how ignorant they are.

The FCC in conjunction w/ APCO (Association of Professional Communication Officers) coordinates assignment of frequencies. Those do not just change monthly with the wind to "hide" from scannerheads.

Henry Co, GA is on a "Pro-Voice" trunked system. Pro-voice is a proprietary system from M/A Comm that cannot be followed by any scanner.

Clayton Co Police & Sheriff is on VHF and can be scanned by you. Their Fire/EMS is UHF.

You could also get a copy of Scanner Stuff, a frequency guide with talk groups for the metro Atlanta area. I bought a copy a year ago. They should be coming out with a new edition next year.

Scan Atlanta is a great website with information that may be rather interesting.

Thanks Guys! I'll make sure I check out the Scan Atlanta website
to see whats all what and where n how lol. So far I been hearing
alot of 150.99 and 155.91 alot ever since I been trunk scanning
the scanner antenna I use is the Telescoping Antenna that mounts
inplace of the orginal antenna that comes on the Pro-95. For scanner
I use is the Pro-95 so far I been really impressed with the deal

man today....two busses got in an accident. one bus lost all of its left side mirrors, the other bus lost one of its left mirrors....and get this:

There are many computer programs that use two recievers in tandem to make listening to the ProVoice system very easy. I have tried it in Clayton and it works just fine. There is no system that cant be listened to, i promise. Clayton has that system becuase it was the cheapest and the becuase the commisioner at the time was friends with him.

Please tell me just how you can listen to a provoice systen (Henry County).

I've never heard of your setup.

You can't, unless you have a Pro-Voice radio that has been programmed to receive (which getting that done is like winning the Lottery). No scanner will monitor Pro-Voice. Sorry.

I was at my local RS here in Stockbridge, and they still swear that their pro-96 will pick up Henry County.

I gave up after trying for ten minutes that it was impossible to monitor a provoice system.

I wish I could help you out with that, but I'm up in NE Cobb and can't receive the Henry signal up here. There may be someone down your way that's here that can help or just log into the ScanAtlanta @ yahoogroups and join the list and post a message there.

I've recently been in Henry several times and have had limited success monitoring on my BC796 with digital card. I've monitored HCFD dispatch and numerous public works (wow that's some good stuff). But have never heard PD nor any indication that the scanner was getting even a scrambled signal.

Henry County all simulcast of public safety (including pd) have been cut off and in provoice mode except for fire alerting and mutual aid patches.
