I know all eyes are on Irene, but I looked up the latest prediction from Joe Bastardi. He is one of the top professional/commercial forecasters in the business. If he is correct, this could be one big mess for us from the OBX to Beantown. Norfolk appears to be in for quite a ride with predictions of 120 mph gusts. Here is the link:

Get your generators checked out and fueled.

20 gal gas and generator is ready. All my outdoor items are inside (wish my %)^(&(^( neighbors would do the same. Have plenty of elderly neighbors, guess they are going to my problem if sh** hits the fan.

Yep, getting ready for it too here near Richmond, although it won't be as bad as on the coast. It looks like it might be worse than Isabel but at least the ground isn't as saturated now as it was that year.

And now I'll be at the state EOC first thing in the morning, staffing the amateur radio room.

ORION OPS 10 just reported they don't expect any storm changes other then what we've already experienced.

I guess she fooled you, and everybody else too. I have family living off Luck's Lane and they somehow didn't lose power. Gonna be a long cleanup!

She certainly did. I was at the state EOC for over 12 hours in the radio room (N4VEM, perhaps I spoke to some of you?) Saturday and handled lots of messages.

I too was very lucky to keep power, well we only lost it for about 2 hours but it's been very reliable.
