This might be a shot in the dark but does anyone have notes on who this agency could be? Comms are fully encrypted, licensee is a radio shop in Florida with a fixed base in Mount Laurel, Burlington County NJ, WQQK449 (confirmed callsign ID). Perhaps student transportation? Seems to be most active during school hours with sparse activity into the evenings

The FCC coordinates show a tower in a state park (using google maps). There are 2 schools about 1000 feet to the east of that.

Yeah I was thinking possibly Mount Laurel Schools Transportation. Comms are way too frequent to be a school itself & the power output is way too high, haha. Don't want to make a submission unless I can get a definite confirmation or negation
Thinking outside of the box, don't discount any private Waste Management companies, early morning daytime hours ending around 4:00 or 5:00 and usually no weekends. Another shot in the dark.🙂

Large garbage truck Fleet out of Mount Laurel who also by the way have numerous facilities and fleets in.. Tampa, Orlando, Pensacola, West Palm Beach, Jacksonville and others Florida locations. Worth a look see.

Essentially at the same intersection as the schools and towers. But I would think it less likely for a waste management company to encrypt. Note that in my area in Virginia, such companies operate during the day between school bus hours as many residential areas do not like the noise early in the morning. Another possibility might be an armored courier service.

Actually I would think a waste management company definitely would want to be encrypted so as the competition in this very competitive field can't hear where clients are so as to try to steal them.

If this headquarters is near the same location as the school this is something to think about.

I am of Italian Heritage so this is just a joke but I remember Don Corleone saying to Sonny "what's wrong with you, never let anybody outside the family know what you're thinking"😆.

The tower coordinates are
39.934306-74.893875

When I investigated this years ago -- I don't remember details -- but I think it was school bus services provided by a contractor to multiple districts and not an individual school district. There are a few in the area, including one company on NJ 38 in Hainesport.

Back when, it was NBFM, not encrypted.

Well I guess that shoots my theory down Tom LOL. Sure is a coincidence that the garbage truck company is on the same corner and the license being out of a radio vendor in Florida where the garbage truck company has its headquarters.

Problem is it's encrypted so how do we know?

I did check out armored car companies, you have the major three in Jersey.

Dunbar in Cinnaminson and Pennsauken, Brooks in Runnemede and of course Loomis in Trenton.

Let us know what you find out John.

My memory is really rusty, as I sold my PRO-106 handheld scanner more than a few years ago before Burlco Central encrypted the PD comms. I won't buy another scanner as long as I live here. I do have an old vintage 1998 RS PRO-2041, now only used to listen to KDIX approach/departure.

On the property behind historic building is the old western union relay tower. For years Mt Laurel PD in the T Band days had there repeater located there along with other LMR business repeaters. That was one of my service area sites when I was working for Moto, and service Burlington County Central Communications.

Just FYI, the Republic services facility at 4100 church Rd does have a tower on the property. It's about a 75ft self supported tower with one antenna at the top.

Alright, well I let the SDR sit on frequency today, logged about 70 unique RIDs (all 102### series), RID 102110 is most active so I'll surmise this is "base". Comms were frequent between 7 and 9:30am, sparse between 10 & 3 & picked back up again after 3:00. This to me follows the usual student transportation communication pattern

When I heard that the Sanitation Company had their own tower on their own property on that corner, that eliminated that option, regardless of the coincidences of preferred encryption and headquarters in Florida.

It's nothing but detective work as an investigative reporter would do.

Because it's encrypted, it's completely irrelevant anyway, it's been a good collaborative effort. I enjoy this kind of thread, the kind that interests me the most 😉.
