Hey guys, I'm new here but I've been cruising this forum for about a week. I'm fairly young I'm sure compared to most of you Pro's on here. :) But anyways, I wanted to share my work in progress with all of you .

Radio Shack Pro-2055 w/ 2 speakers.
2 Midland LXT-420 Radios (Mainly for recreational use)
And I have a Radio Shack 20-176 antenna on a 30 ft. pole outside. I will include pics of it tomorrow.
I used RG-58 cable by the way. I'm sure it won't effect the the reception too much.

That picture is kind of dark. Try slowing down your shutter speed and shutting off the flash. 2.5" should work. Of course, you are going to need a tripod.

Nice job. Welcome to RR. And trust me, even though you may have 1/10th the equipment that some of the guys on here do, your setup is clearly more functional than the vast majority. If the things you use aren't easily accessible to you, they might as well not be there. In your case, it's all right in front of you.

Welcome To Radio Reference!

Your set up is fine. It's all about what works for you and your monitoring needs. No need for over kill from the start ( That comes later ). Good Luck!!!

Antenna

Hey guys, thanks for all the nice comments. Here is my antenna setup. Eventually I want to put the 10ft. section of the pole on the roof somehow instead of how it is now. But it works how it is for the time being. I know it doesn't look like it, but the antenna itself is actually about 4 1/2 feet above the highest point of the roof.
