Hello,

Might someone please provide, or suggest a link to, a pretty basic list for the commonly used HF acars abbreviations ?

BTW: are they the same for vhf acars ?

Thanks,
Bob

Google for PC-HFDL, download it and read the manual - it's all in there, or if your even too lazy to do that, it's in a Wiki here on RR.

From OP: Where, Please ?

Hi,

Thanks for help.
As always, much appreciated.

I did look at the HELP file in PC-HFDL.
Is this what you are referring to ?

I did not see any list of acars message abbreviations in it, but at my age, things are easy to miss.
Is it there, somewhere ?

Regards,
Bob

Unfortunately we don't have these abbreviations in this wiki - where do they exist, Martin? URL?

What abbreviations are you looking for?

Down here in the boonies I don't get much HFDL traffic. I get Auckland and Molokai base stations but not much aero responses - I guess these days most Oceanic stuff is on CPDLC via the satellits.

If you could cut'n'paste a typical message we could have a go at deciphering it.

I thought I knew I read this before. ok did you get the program up and running did you try acards ? and did this work ?? because the question your asking is How do I read the display message ( in its raw format) and this question has been answered here scroll up Yep it is in the help file. you keep going to different forums and expecting members to help when you tend to be vague and Never give us any real answers or be very specific Im not trying to be rude There are tons of messages on hf you can get and decode If you have the right set-up which I suspect you dont
