HF Milair newbie

Hi all. I would like to get into listening to HF milair, civilian aircraft, MARS etc. I'm new to HF radio and don't know alot about it. I'm thinking about getting a Sangean ATS909\Radio Shack DX 398 or a Sangean ATS 818 / Realistic DX 390.
Would one of these be good for this type of listening or could you suggess something better, new or used, for around $200 or less?

As long as you can tune Single Sideband, you'll be fine. Start off with 11.175 and 8.992, the Global Communications System.

If you can find a Grundig Yacht Boy 400PE that would be an excellent choice. Price range is about $130 dollars + or - 10 dollars. This radio will do both USB and LSB so it's perfect for utility/military/hf aviation services.
