Hello all from a new member form Calgary. The wife and I have an old PRO-2032 which we have listened to for years. Discovered this forum and have done some reading. Would like to expand into a more modern unit eventually if the prices come down a bit.
Welcome to RR... With Radio Shack coming out with a new model, rumors flying about an upgrade or new model from Uniden, prices have been lowered on the Pro96/2096 and most likely will come down more on them. If new scanners come out, and they are really good, some users will want to upgrade and put their scanners up for sale, so within a month or two your wish may come true. Nice to see your wife also enjoys listening, so enjoy RR, and I hope you fine the scanner that meets you needs...
