Highland Park PD

I know Highland Park Police have there own Talkgroups on the MPSCS and they do use them. But whenever I am on scene with them there radios are on one of the DPD Dispatch channels. Just wondering which DPD District would be dispatching them?
Also just curious how the whole 911 system works in Highland Park, sometimes when we pick up a patient they say something about DPD answering, but our dispatch (Medic One Ambulance) gets the call from Highland Park Fire.

Northeast district used to. I thought they where using there own, but I haven't listened in awhile. Hey Tony, is 696 still the rig Medic One uses in HP?

Medic One didn't what to pay the extra $200 for ALS/BLS dual licensing on 696 so its only out there when it's ALS. 694 is the BLS truck (well van). Hopefully by the end of April ill have my Medic and we can start rolling ALS at night.

And yes DPD Northeastern District dispatches HPPD. Its really nice having my scanner out there, now we can get a little heads up on the calls and don't end up showing up 5 minutes before the police.

Yeah we used to sit in Hamtramck at night and listen to DPD running around. At that time we had ALS at night so if a BLS was posted in Hamtramck they would get the HP run if it came in as something silly. It was great experience for the BLS boys and girls, not too many privates offer that kind of experience for BLS.
