By Parkesburg Fire Company No. 1 April 1, 2010 This evening Parkesburg Ambulance 28 was dispatched along with Station 27(Cochranville) and Medics for a motor vehicle crash involving fire. Initial reports given to Fireboard indicated a two vehicle accident involving fire. Chief 27 arrived onscene and confirmed reports and also requested Aeromedical due to injuries of one patient. At this time Engine 28 was dispatched to the scene for the possibility of extension into a nearby structure. Upon arrival the crew from Engine 28 split with one half of the crew checking the structure for extension and the other half assisting EMS onscene with the patient. After the crews checked the barn for extension the Engine officer reported back to command with negative extension and was tasked with lighting the scene for PA State Police. EMS crews worked onscene diligently to rescusitate the driver of the vehicle during this time. Engine 28 was released by command within one hour. Ambulance 28 remained onscene for some time awaiting the coroners office.
