AL DPS freq's
I guess the new narrow band freq's may be for future use
Similiar to AL. Forestry freq's that have recently changed over to the new narrow band freq's
A lot of their new freq's are very close to their old freq's
I have monitored 158.7900 & 154.9200 base freq. and in most places I have no trouble hearing
the base
I monitored the car freq. the other day and the car was having problems hearing the base
for some reason , possible dead spot
I haven't heard on anything as far as a state wide 800 EDACS system yet , I guess the money is
not their to install a new system yet
I did see that Florida State Police was using an 800 MHz. Mot. system but is getting ready to
move back to a statewide Macom EDACS Dig. system
From what I understand it cant be monitored with a scanner, at least not yet
That is the first time I've ever heard of anyone going back to a EDACS system
It must be better than Motorola , Go figure
Most areas I know of have changed over from EDACS system to Mot. not the other way around
Whats up with that?
I guess the new rules about interoperability from state to state does not apply hear
since most states are still on VHF high or low & not on 800 yet
Im still puzzled about the 159.210, It is licensed to AL DPS , but for what - Tactical Ops I guess
Cherokee Co. also is licensed for that freq , I thought they were using it for a rptr. input but now I am not sure
what it is used for other than tactical use
