Your scanner will do that. Just program in a wildcard TG and it will show any active TGs.

I did not know that the pro 2096 unit has a wildcard capability, Please advise how to program this function if you please...

It doesn't have that feature, but it has an "open" mode which serves the same purpose.

Press "FUNC" + 5 and it will toggle between open and closed mode.

Hill Field has switch to a different/new radio system. This change will require those of us who monitor them, to refigure out the frequencies and who is using the newly arraigned talkgroups. Normally the talkgroups are set up by the radio tech and organized as he(she) see's fit.
I have been using a GRE500 to find and monitor the control channels. Monitoring them, allows me to see the other freqs used as well as the talkgroups. By listening we can figure out who is using each talkgroup, some of the time. It takes a lot of monitoring to figure these out and takes time. I have identified two site so far and most of the freqs used. I have found a couple dozen talkgroups, but have only ID'ed the users for a few. Again, it will take time and effort. If there is anyone else that has done research on this system, feel free to email me and we can compare info.

I have a submission that the "Utah Military" is no longer in use.

If anyone local can also verify that the system is actually shut down, please reply here or PM me.

Also if a new system is being found, please collocate here in the forums and/or the Radioreference Wiki. When there is enough VERIFIED information, please PM me or make a submission with VERIFIED information on site locations (if known), System ID, users etc so it can properly be placed in service in the DB. Thanks

So with these new p25 talk group out of SLC, Do you think any of this is related to HILL AFB and it's activities, I can still copy security on digital FM mode, But I can not find any new talk group to weed out the action I choose not to listen to

It looks like this system is gone. Several of the freqs used are part of the "new" system that was found earlier . I have been monitoring it and hope to provide some input this weekend.

United States Department of Defense: Hill AFB System
This system is now being used by HAFB and the Utah test and Training Range (UTTR) in Tooele Co.
(Using a GRE 500 and WIN500)

So far, I've heard two sites:
Site 001 - Control channel=409.7625; 406.5625; 406.9625; 407.3625; 407.7625; 408.1625; 408.5625; 408.9625; 409.3625; 410.1625

Site 002 - Control channel=406.7625; 407.1625; 407.5625. After watching for two weeks, these are all I've seen for this site.

Talkgroups are different from what we normally see here in Utah. So far I've "maybe" ID'ed a few.

10236 - HAFB FD Disp
10251 - HAFB Security
10353 - UTTR Range Control Ops South
10640 - Utah Control
10132 - HAFB Ground Control

Hello

Thanks to all posting the new info for HAFB. I was able to get Unitrunker working again and have been gathering data. The signal for both CC's is a bit weaker for me than the old ones. I used to be able to sit in my office downstairs and pull a good signal. I had to move the laptop and scanner upstairs to get a mediocre signal. Nonetheless I'm gathering info in hopes of posting some new TG labels.

I've been running Unitrunker for a couple of weeks now. I have the following Control channels:
406.5625 as Site 01
406.7625 as Site 02
407.1625 as Site 03
408.7625 as Site 05

I agree with the weaker signal strength. I can only receive Site 02 at work near the airport, but I can get Site 01 and 02 in Bountiful.
So far all comms are P25 (digital). The only encrypted comms I've gotten (so far) is the security force at the Utah Air National Guard station.
I will post some more of the sortof ID'ed talkgroups later.
Merry Christmas, and may everyone have a safe, and happy new year.

I've been working with the PRO-2096 on this system. Setting are a bit confusing, but what works is:
Base - 406.1125
Offset - 9
Step - 12.5K
9600 CC Mode
TABLE

PRO96com shows a base of 406.0000, but that did not work for the 2096.

It has been a while since last reporting on this system. Now for the bad news. I believe the system is Phase II TDMA. This means a new scanner. I am looking at the Whistler TRX-2 at the moment.

I have been using Unitrunker to track the systems Site 02 Control Channel (407.5625) for a while, and I have the following info:
Channel access=P2; Modulation=C4FM; NAC=000; and finally, Site02 freqs=
LCN Freq
00-0061 406.7625
00-0093 407.1625
00-0125 407.5625
08-0122 406.7625
08-0186 407.1625
08-0250 407.5625
Notice same freq for two different LCN's.
Yep, it looks to me like HAFB is a TDMA system.
Anyone have any thoughts about this?
