Today, I discovered a new P25 system operating in SLC, Utah.
So far, Unitrunker found three freqs
406.7625 CC, 407.1625 407.5625 (US Govt Band)
These are some of the freqs of the (now silent) 6227 site 4.
My PSR500 is getting a 99% decode at my home in Kearns.

The display shows:
APCO P25 322E0-0A, SITE 002-002
N00A W:322E0 SY:00A R002 S002

How I found it:
I finally got Unitrunker working with the RTL-SDR on the Winbook TW802.
So I took it to work and ran it all day logging a local 406 MHz TSYS.

When I returned to Salt Lake City, I couldn't receive the
Control Ch for the 406 MHz Motorola Site downtown.
I did a Limit Search in the 406 band.
It hit on this new P25 CC. No other hits from 406-411 Mhz.
When I got home, I reset Unitrunker to log the new P25 system.

Just now, at midnight, I got 3 hits: 10602, 10603, 10604
All encrypted.

I noticed that kma371 posted a link to the Utah Military trunked systems,
but when I looked there I saw no mention of this new P25 system.

It's the same system, look at the frequencies. Looks like they just upgraded to full P25

The other three sites remain Motorola analog smartnet. Some users have P25 digital voice.
The site downtown is primarily used by Federal Protective Service, an agency of Homeland Security.

It also shows site 002. So there should be a site 001?

Note the WACN/Sys ID decodes as HAF J in the standard format but I have seen the format modified so that it would decode as HAF A. HAF is obviously Hill Air Force.

Utah Military site 1 just converted to P25.
Had to switch my PSR500 from MOT to P25 auto.
Much of the chatter concerns reconfiguring radios.

Hill AFB, UT (TALK GROUP SYSTEM)

The last/recent reply is a bit confusing to me, Sorry about that on my end.
What I have is a digital radio shack scanner monitoring system in my work vehicle. I do monitor as an amateur radio operator (Extra Class) all public safety band and my employer system, However I have noticed that the Hill AFB, UT security and fire department have possible moved away from their old "talk groups" which make them difficult to monitor, I am coping all there frequency and traffic, It is way overwelming, Does anyone know where the have moved to?.

Has anyone in the area been tracking the new system at Hill? The talkgroups are bit odd, but this is what I've "confirmed" so far. Control channel 406.7625
TG Use
10162 Roads/Snowplows
10236 HAFB Fire Dispatch
10251 HAFB Security
10281 ECHO Tow-A
10353 Range control-Ops South
10604 UANG Security
10623 Aircraft Fueling/POL
10640 Maintenance Control

I do not understand you reply ... Please explain if you would...
Is there some piece of equipment on the market that decodes "talk groups" available. I run a radio shack pro 2096 in my truck and at the base station.....

Unless someone maps out the system from a radio showing alpha tags on each TG, then ID'ing each TG must be deduced from direct observation, which is what gldavis has done, see his post for Hill Field HAFB in the Utah forum.

This listing appears to be old, is this the most current listing for the security and fire department usuage? chris K7CDS

Hill AFB, UT moto 2 ?

Are they not in Utah Military, moto type 2, under salt lake City. lots of Hill AFB listings.

This is a unusually strange response, Pleas explain, What is the moto type two... And Salt lake City is a pinch away from Hill AFB,
unless it also covers Eagle Range, North and south... Chris K7CDS

Your scanner will do that. Just program in a wildcard TG and it will show any active TGs.

Pro2096 doesn't have "wildcards", it has "open" and "closed" mode. He needs open to hear all activity.

HILL AFB (Talk Group)

N7YUO had a recent discussion about this.
http://forums.radioreference.com/federal-monitoring-forum/322279-new-p25-system-found.html
As for what TGs changed, anyone who can hear it should update the database.

I have a question for you that might answer my own question...
I have a radio shack pro 197 and pro 2069 scanner... How can I program the radio to display the talk groups as they are in use, Otherwise I can listen to them in the FM mode, But I hear everything, I only desire to hear emergency services like the security and fire department, So, I have the frequency per this website, I just need to program the Talk groups.
