Last night the action hit a little close to home. My wife called me and told me that there had been at least 1 cop parked in our cul-de-sac all day long. When I arrived home I saw two cops just sitting in their cars appearing to be waiting for someone but I had no idea who or what.
About 5pm I hear quite a few cars outside so I went and looked through the window and holy crap they are storming the neighborhood. About 10 cars (marked and unmarked) from Hillsboro PD and WCSO were parked up and down the street. A couple of guys were strapping on vests and two others were headed around the back of our house with assault rifles. I grabbed my scanner to try and find out what the heck was going on. I moved to my kitchen where I saw one of the officers grab a lawn chair and stand up on it and pointing his rifle over our back fence at our neighbors house (I never cared for them much anyways).
6 or 7 more officers are at the front of the neighbors house with a couple of shields, a few shotguns a battering ram and a fire extinguisher. Two more behind them with long dog catching poles. I hear them yell police and then ... crack!
The scanner is silent on all the WCSO/HBPD channels. Finally after about 5 minutes I hear something. They indicate that the house is clear except for the kitchen and garage which they can't check because a pittbull is holding them. One officer indicated that they sprayed the dog with the fire extinguisher and now had the catch poles on the dog and were taking him to the backyard.
Once the house was clear they brought in the Hillsboro Crime Scene people and started going through the garage.When all was done about 3 hours later they had removed about 1.5 pickup trucks worth of car parts...
I can only assume what our neighbors must have been doing
