The county of Hillsborough, has applied to the FCC for a 700 MHz, Project 25 TRS license. The preliminary site will be located on 78th Street in Tampa. You can view the application the FCC Web site.

Is this part of the long term interop plans? hope so. that patch last week with tpd, cpd and psco (fhp apparently left out) was difficult to understand and tpd went to cell phones for air support when out of edacs range in my old cwater hood. must have interop. conventional analog might work in the meantime, maybe?

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (applicant) requests an extended implementation schedule for a portion of the current 700 MHz application. The applicant proposes to construct the fixed site in a 5-channel configuration during the first 12 months following grant of license. The first year implementation will include a portion of the mobile and control equipment. The additional 5 channels and remaining subscriber equipment will be constructed over a 5-year implementation period as additional subscriber units are brought onto the system.
The implementation schedule as presently planned is:
FY 2010-2011: Construct 5 channels of the 700 MHz site and load to 25% of total subscribers.
FY 2011-2012: Prepare USAI grant request for 700 MHz build-out to 10 channels with additional subscribers.
FY 2012-2013: Secure funding and order equipment to complete construction to 10 channels.
FY 2013-2014: Construct remainder of station equipment to 10 channels.
FY 2014-2015: Complete subscriber loading of system to at least 70% of licensed loading
