Hillsborough County - MacDill?

Anyone have any luck monitoring MacDill, P25? Is it even phase I, and unencrypted? I cant pick up anything, using SDRsharp to identify controls and Unitrunker + DSD+.

EDACS system is extremely active for east and west groups. The control channel seems to rotate daily, today it is 853.5250 for East. Yesterday was 851.750 and 852.9125 for west. There's a channel or two missing, but overall I get 97% of transmissions, including Provoice.

EDACS is about the only system I reliably get so far though.

MacDill used to be mostly unencrypted, but is almost all encrypted last time I monitored. They asked RadRef in writing to not post their radio system info, and the info was taken down for a time, but then showed back up. So, they responded by encrypting just about everything.

Figures, Im new to this but am getting the hang.
The only systems Im reliably picking up are Hillsborough/tampa east & west EDACS96. Anything else non-encrypted /non P25 phase II? Seems like most of the Hillsborough stuff is outdated.

EDACS will rotate control channels - there should be a Chase setting in UT if you have entered all LCNs in the correct order.

There are some unencrypted comms on the MacDill system, if you're patient you will hear something. I heard them two days ago, but I don't remember which TG it was. Happy Listening. P.S. Welcome to the RR forums!

Thanks. I probably wont have much luck considering Im using an SDR and have to watch for spikes in frequency to find any new channels. (or RR db)

Use Unitrunker with your SDR...enter the control channel freq from RR. Last time I was near MacDill, I ran it and everything was encrypted. The norm for military nationwide.

everytime i went by up there and scanned the 406 to 420 band, all i got was ENC.
