Good evening everyone, I bought a FT3400 tuner today for 5 dollars with the intention of using the tuning capacitor for an antenna. It is quite beat up and missing (ripped out) the loop antenna on the back. I managed to restring the tuning dial, so that is good. Looking at the schematics, I can't find where to attach a generic loop. Sure there is a rca jack and a screw terminal marked 'AM', but I would like to wire it in. Also, when I touch the other end of a loop of wire to the ground, the signal completely disappears. Also just attaching a 5 ft wire to the AM screw terminal produces a little sound. When the wire is touched to my metal shelving, it produces a more traditional AM noise. I'm wondering that if I can solder in a loop antenna to the circuit board, will it work correctly?
