So recently, my Hitachi stopped accepting VHS tapes. But as soon as I eject one, and try to put a new one in, it will go in, but stops when the end of the VHS is at the door, and if I try to push it in, it makes a clicking sound, and the VHS wont move foward at all. But when I hit eject, it ejects just fine. If I unplug the unit and plug it back in, it will accept the tapes.

Any ideas as to why it does this?

Sounds like something went wonky with the SYSCON board. Since VHS is obsolete good luck trying to get it fixed. Looks to me if you want to continue using it you'll have to play with the AC plug since SYSCON remains powered at all times so the remote works when the unit is powered off. Oh, before you ask that's the contraction of systems control.
