• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

Just wondering if the v2 CPS 25K EID still the same (HKVN4046A) or is there a new designation?
Looked for any references here but could not find anything more recent than 2020.

Thank you for the confirmation, I had doubts if this would only be usable with CPS16.
I saw prices of $35 to $40, is this a normal price range for this EID?

No, the EID is free from Motorola, you just have to take the 10 minute course (watch the video).

Unfortunately I don't have an account with M. Guess the $35 is just a fee they are charging to do the legwork for me.

I would recommend getting an account with M. Keep in mind, you need 1 for each installation/version. If computer 1 has CPS16 and CPS2, you need a total of 2 entitlements, add computers/laptops, you need to add entitlements.

Yes I am aware of each computer would need a separate EID, but I only really need one for my radio laptop.
I tried opening an account about a year ago and did not even get a response. Being outside the US does probably not help either.

As far as im aware, if 16 has it and you install CPS2, it will carry over

It didn't in my case. I also have some radios on 16 and on 2, so if you release it from 16 and did a full migration to 2, you would be ok, but if you need to run both on the same machine, you need 2 entitlements.

Nope it does not, as far as I know.
That's really odd. When I first installed CPS2 I dont remember it asking me for a second entitlement. It's been a while so maybe i just forgot
