Hobbs Listening

To start out, I have searched the forum and figured out that the EDACS system in Hobbs/Lea County is now gone. I have also figured out there is a simulcast P25 Phase II system in place. I have read mixed reviews that some of it is encrypted, others saying it's 100% encrypted.

While in Hobbs yesterday, I was unable to find anything on my 436hp, and after looking at the database I only assume that's because there are no TGID's listed for that system? Does anyone have further details about this system? I'm going to try and take a dongle and run unitrunker on the system next time I go to Hobbs, but would really like to figure out what that system is doing.

Also. Does anyone know of other good stuff to monitor in that area?

They have went to P25 phase 2 with all of law enforcement, but I am hearing the fire is on phase 1.

What to listen to? There is some ham freqs in the area, xcel energy has it's p25 system, and you can catch some commercial stuff in the 400 mhz range.

Almost makes the 996xt I bought a couple of years ago worthless.
