Assist Hockessin: Working House Fire

In the early afternoon around 13:32 Hours, The Avondale Fire Company was dispatched for a working dwelling fire with New Castle County Station 19 in the 1700 block of Brackenville Road. Avondale crews heard the dispatch for New Castle County and the original alert for a single engine assist and were able respond quickly. When Avondale units arrived on scene there were still heavy smoke and fire conditions. Tanker 23, Rescue 23, and Engine 23-3 responded and helped with overhaul operations. Crews also checked for extension but were ordered to evacuate the addition section due to deteriorating conditions. Avondale units were available at 16:32 hours.
