Hollywood, FL police have been using Broward countys trunked frquencies, but as of 11/9/04 only lifeguards & code enforcement can be heard. Where can the HPD be heard nowdays?

As of November 9th, they have gone back to their own site, which is actually site 3 of the Broward County Smartzone system. Control channels are 866.0875 and 868.7125.
So far, police and fire/rescue have moved there, I am assuming that public works will follow. And, all talkgroups are now digital, so you'll have to pony up for a digital scanner if you don't have one! :?

To hear Hollywood Public Safety, you will need to buy a digital scanner- Radio Shack- PRO-96, Unidens- BC296D, BC796D.

Hollywood PD & Pro 96 V 1.2
Are there any Pro 96 owners in the Hlwd area listening to the PD with V 1.2 (I understand V 1.3 is difficult to get.) If so, how is the reception as Hlwd has always had problems with their previous systems........

I'm too far from Hollywood to hear them, but others have reported no problems monitoring them since they have gone digital. Whatever old problems they had with their old system should be gone, as the new system is Motorola digital and the old system was EDACS.
