Thanks for the post. I had been listening Saturday with my PRO2006 and heard them but didn't hear any "digital buzz". Tonight I programmed my BCD996XT and heard them in P25. Also had a hit on 155.955 F2 Records. Haven't heard any analog traffic. Fred

Does Holyoke PD have a Freq 3 and what is it with PL. Thanks in advance.

I have seen 159.090 listed on SNE and in a frequency guide as an F3 for Holyoke PD (but not confirmed). One night a few years ago, I heard Montague PD on that freq, but have heard nothing else. There is a frequency, 154.8825 PL114.8 that is used by the Holyoke Aux. Police. I have only heard it active during this year's St. Patrick's Day Parade. We'll find out next year if that was changed to P25 as well. Fred

158.955 F2/Records is now pretty much encrypted.

Also, I did hear a brief P25 transmission on 154.8825, which is Holyoke Auxiliary Police. I think it was NAC162 (too quick to confirm and I think it was accidental). Have to wait until the parade to confirm.

I have been listening the past 5 days straight (including now) & all P25 digital, no more analog.

Ch1 159.210 Rptr NAC $023 (clear)
Ch2 158.955 Rptr NAC $086 (99.9% quiet due to encrypted, but heard an officer last night calling in who probably didn't know he was Not encrypted when he talked). Only traffic I hear is the non-encrypted individuals.

Their FCC license shows Ch1 transmits from summit of Mt Tom & Soldier's Home, and Ch2 from City Hall/Bell Tower. Ch1 booms into Worc Cnty full scale, and Ch2 receive excellent, but not full signal on scanner signal meter.

Someone here said Holyoke is using Kenwood NX-5200 VHF portables, and I'm guessing Kenwood NX-5700 VHF mobiles. I looked at the specs on Kenwood's website, awesome radios that one radio covers P25, DMR (i.e. MotoTRBO), NexEdge & analog. So they can simply change down or up a channel and be on the opposite digital format to instantly talk to the opposite department. Unsure why one chose P25 & the other chose DMR/MotoTRBO, why not choose the same?
