Sometimes it can be a Bear figuring that out. Don't make a Boo-Boo.

I simply attached the center conductor to the top driven element and the sheild to the bottom driven element. This is for receiving only. I do believe a balun will be needed for transmitting, not sure as I haven't attempted to transmit with any of my homebrewed yagi's yet. Here's a pic of how I attached the coax to the drivien elements.

Never mind the bear, ask Yogi Berra and you'll get an answer you'll never forget, or maybe never remember. Seriously there are more than one way to "connect the coax" so good luck and hope you don't get confused.

That is interesting that you said you should only need a balun for transmit. I was under the impression that you should put one on for recieve too. I made a homebrew yagi a while back for 411ish (the buses in my town) and put one on it. I will have to try it with and without. It was my first yagi and it was sort of funny cause I was not up to speed on the fact that it should be vertically mounted. I just put it the way the broken TV antenna that I salvaged the the parts from was mounted. Didn't get a thing on it, till I posted a picture of it and somebody pointed out my flaw.
