We cut the cable, and went to over the air. All the channels we wanna watch come in good except one.
It's VHF, low power. The one's that come in great are UHF, with 10X the power of this VHF station.

So I'm gonna knock up a 3 element for the VHF. My question is simply do I mount it vertical or horizontal? What polarization is a tv signal?

Thanks

The polarization for TV signals is horizontal. Good Luck with your project.

And yes, some so-called digital TV antennas, like the indoor flat ones, do not pick up the VHF HI channels well or even at all. And forget about the VHF LOW channels. 2-6. Get a VHF/UHF combiner for your antennas.
