For the homeland security frequencies on dmr 3 in Connecticut should it be on scan and search or just scan on a bcd 996 p2 scanner or does it matter

Search is for radio ids that you don’t have in your radio if you put the IDs in yourself and you don’t want to hear anything else, then just leave it on scan

I think you're talking about HDN trunk system and not homeland security talkgroup.
The 996p2 WILL do DMR as long as you purchased the DMR option. Can't listen to DMR otherwise

I still have not had any success in getting the BCD996P2 to track this system no matter how I program the LCN's. I know this has been a topic several times before. Has anyone figure this out? It only seems to work if I program the site frequencies as individual sites in the scanner. It will then see the first (and only) frequency of each site and therefore recognize the talk groups during scanning.

Someone had luck programming zeros in the LCN but I have not been able to get it to work. It may be the way the Hytera system is built or programmed that doesn't follow the standard. I know the System date & time that DSDPlus sees is off by several hours and that some sites show neighbors and some don't. It could also be something with the CPS-P3 dialing scheme that they follow (it is in the ETSI standard) that Uniden doesn't like.

I tried the zero thing and also had no luck. It may possibly track talk groups for the first frequency should it happen to be the one active and therefore make it seem as it's working. Especially since conversations tend to stay on one frequency and don't jump around.
