5-6 years ago the radio system I help maintain/manage had:
1) A totally different system ID (a 4.1 system ID)
2) A totally different Talkgroup ID layout.
We have migrated over to full P25 and renumbered all of our system talkgroups to match up with a statewide numbering plan.
If someone has not updated their scanner database in that amount of time they would
be SOL if they wanted to monitor our radio system as the system info in the database would be very out of date.
As others have said you gotta keep the master database updated and current.
