HP-1: Home Patrol 1 remote control

Dug out the HP-1. Does any SW exist to remotely control this unit? It doesn’t appear ProScan will or that Butel has any offerings.

@Vonskie -"Scanner Screen" software will connect to it... But it only does logging...
Maybe he can be enticed into adding some scanner control with the above posted coding...

Have you looked at ARC PATROL software for Homepatrol 1/2 download

It states that ARC-Patrol has basic virtual control. Not sure if it meets your needs.

Thanks. Tried the remote control demo and it's very rudimentary, but thanks again.

ARC Patrol from Butel are excellent and also HPe-rc are excellent. Both gives you full control of the scanner.

It may be a limit of the serial commands available in the HP-1, but what Butel allows is very, very basic.

I tried the HPe-rc and can’t get it to run. It hasn’t been updated in over 10 years so it may be it doesn’t like Win 11.

Isn't ARC Patrols virtual display working the same as the touch screen on the HP?

In the folder where you installed HPe-rc there will be a log file that stores the errors and might give a hint to what's wrong.
