My primary requirement in a scanner is to be able to display the CTCSS/DCS/NAC of the frequency being listened to. This will be an upgrade from a POS scanner so I might as well buy a HP-2.

My question is with the HP-2 will I be able to key in a specific frequency and once it picks up some transmissions will it display/log/save the CTCSS/DCS/NAC?

For example if I put in The Search and Rescue Interagency Frequency of 149.080 MHz and once it has picked up a transmission will it tell me the CTCSS is 156.7 Hz?

You can also save the CTCSS/DCS/NAC by pressing the < at the far right of the channel, pressing advanced, then save sub audio tone.

As Voyager said, while recording the radio will also record the particulars for the channel/frequency. This is extremely useful, kind of set it and forget it. You don't need to be watching the radio if trying to capture CTCSS/DCS/NAC.
